This past summer some friends got together and decided to plan a trip from the tips of New England to Eastern Ohio. With six of us in all, and about two items of luggage each (not counting snacks) it was going to be a little cramped in a car or even SUV. So I had to rent a minivan from Hertz. When we got to the rental agency and all they had were Kia Sedona’s, we were all a little irked. I mean, Kia is a new brand, and although they are evolving their vehicles to be both reliable and inexpensive, it still makes one somewhat anxious taking it halfway across the country (ok, maybe one-third across). The Sedona rental was also originally from Texas – so we wondered what happened to it on the road between there and here.

I guess it’s a compliment to both Kia and Hertz, but the car was FANTASTIC. More than enough leg and head room for all six of us, even with the cargo and all our snacks (and board games). The van gave us some great mileage per gallon (we filled her up only twice the entire trip!) and was a smooth ride at a constant 75 miles per hour…which the Pennsylvania Highway Patrol reminded us was NOT the speed limit on Interstates via a speeding ticket. This may sound like some fluff piece for Kia vehicles, but it’s actually not. We, the writers and prducers at Kiapedia, have nothing but good things to say about the very surprising Kia Sedona. Hell, we may grow up to actually LIKE driving around in minivans.
